Documentation support / For U.S. counsel
Connect a foreign investor’s source of capital to the records behind it.
I help U.S. attorneys organize foreign records into a source-of-funds narrative that can be examined, questioned, and traced back to the underlying documents. The assignment is defined around your matter and your team’s requirements.
When it can help
What you receive
An explanation of the agreed sources and relevant events, with links to the records supporting each material statement.
Stable document references identifying issuers, dates, relevant parties, and the period or transaction addressed.
A record of the relevant payments, accounts, amounts, currencies, and supporting references within scope.
Missing evidence, inconsistent amounts or dates, and factual or legal questions requiring follow-up.
Before work begins
A non-confidential description of the investment, relevant jurisdictions, sources, and timing is enough for the first conversation. After scope and confidentiality arrangements are agreed, the review may involve sale records, statements, corporate records, distribution documents, or other evidence relevant to that particular source.
Fees, the estimated timetable, document-transfer arrangements, and any agreed review or clarification rounds are defined before the engagement. Changes in document volume or complexity may require an updated scope.
This service organizes and analyzes the agreed documentary record. It does not provide a blanket certification that funds are lawful or documents authentic, replace independent verification, or determine what a bank or government agency will accept. U.S. legal, tax, immigration, and sanctions conclusions remain with appropriately qualified professionals.
